Arsenal provide the worst free kick routine vs Manchester United in the first half
Arsenal provide the worst free kick routine vs Manchester United in the first half during their Premier League match at the Old Trafford last night.
There was a time when Arsenal vs Manchester United matches were marked in the calendar. Both sides wear fearsome and terrorised the Premier League through the mega stars they had in their ranks. Times have changed however, and both clubs are now fighting to save their place in the top 6.

While United’s downfall is more recent, Arsenal’s downfall began in the mid 2000’s itself with most of their stars leaving the club after realising that the club does not share the ambitions it once did. The same is now occurring at Old Trafford with the club struggling to even beat mid to lower table sides.
Their return of 9 points from 7 games is their worst in the English top flight since the 1989-90 season and at the moment there are no signs to suggest that they will improve. Arsenal are only marginally better and both fans will concede that the clubs are now fallen giants.
Regardless many hoped that their old rivalry would ignite the flames of competition between the clubs. What they got instead was a dampened first half perfectly summarised by Arsenal Captain Granit Xhaka’s free kick.

After receiving a spot kick in a dangerous position just outside the box, Xhaka tried to be clever and find Callum Chambers on the right. Unfortunately though, he overhit the pass and Chambers had to work to manage the ball before producing a banter of a cross while a cringing Unai Emery looked.
United would eventually score the opener in the 45th minute through a scorcher by Scott McTominay right before half-time. Arsenal then equalised in the 58th minute of the match through Aubameyang. The Gabonese has now registered 7 goals in 7 matches this season.
The game ended 1-1 with both sides receiving a point each. A fair result that reflects the boring game on display last night.
