Arsenal release statement after video of Alexandre Lacazette inhaling balloon emerges

Arsenal release statement after video of Alexandre Lacazette inhaling balloon emerges 18 months after the striker was videoed doing the same in a London nightclub.

Alexandre Lacazette is currently in hot water after the Daily Star released pictures of the Arsenal striker inhaling from balloons on Saturday night (May 16). The pictures have been taken from a video that the France international is said to have sent to friends.

‘at home, chilling and doing balloons.’

Arsenal have since responded to the situation by releasing a statement saying:

“This is a private matter which we are taking seriously. It will be handled internally.”

The incident comes 18 months after a similar offence committed by Lacazette which included even more Arsenal players. In August 2018, Matteo Guendouzi, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lacazette were filmed passing out after inhaling gas from balloons at a champagne and vodka party.

This isn’t the first time Lacazette has gotten in trouble during the lockdown either.

He was one of the four players who had broken the lockdown rules. The striker was seen talking to a car valeter on his driveway. The other players who had foregone the rules were Nicolas Pepe, who met with his friends to play football. David Luiz and Granit Xhaka who met in Southgate park.

After enduring a poor campaign this season, Lacazette has fallen down the pecking order in recent times and has come off the bench than starting the games lately. However, he did score a few goals coming in as a substitute before the season was called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.
