Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners set to bid for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha after the Ivorian informed his club of his desire to leave.
Arsenal finished last season at 5th in the league just behind London rivals Tottenham. To make matters worse, they lost out on another Champions League opportunity soon after. The Gunners lost to their other London rivals, Chelsea in the finals of the Europa League.

Any hopes of them narrowing the gap with their opponents was laid to waste when their transfer budget came to light. Unai Emery has been handed a mere £45 million to spend. Hardly enough money to buy a world class player in today’s inflated market, let alone attempt to rebuild a side.
However, SkySports have reported that Arsenal are expected to make an offer for Crystal Palace forward, Wilfried Zaha. This is surprising for several reasons.

Crystal Palace are reluctant to let Zaha go after having recently parted ways with Right Back Wan-Bissaka. More importantly though, Palace have valued the Ivorian at £80 million, which is significantly higher than what Arsenal can offer.
Arsenal wants Zaha and he wants Arsenal
Dailymail have reported that Zaha has urged Crystal Palace to reach an agreement with Arsenal, the club he supported while growing up. He is hoping that he will be allowed to join them this summer.

In what should come as good news for the forward, Unai Emery has also asked Arsenal chiefs to dig deep in their pockets. He is expecting them to help him finance the move. And if SkySports are to be believed, then the Arsenal manager may have already received monetary support from the board to secure the services of the Ivorian Striker.
Wilfried Zaha joined Crystal Palace back in 2015 and has helped them consolidate their stay in the premier league since. He is currently on international duty with the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.
