Arsenal transfer news: Gunners submit bid for PSG star in a bid to sign the player in the January transfer window and bolster their squad.
Arsenal have already begun to show improvements under new manager Mikel Arteta. However, the side is aware that in order to consistently grow and once again become a prime contender in the Premier League, they will have to make new signings that will improve the side.

The North London club have identified PSG striker Edinson Cavani as the man they would like to bring in this January and have reportedly already made contacts with the Parisians about signing the Uruguay international before his contract ends at the end of the season, according to Spanish TV show El Chiringuito.
However, they face stern challenge for his signatures from other Premier League sides. Both Manchester United and Chelsea are also reportedly in the race for his signatures. However, the frontrunner to bag the striker is Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
Paris Saint-Germain reluctant to sell in January
However, Spanish outlet Marca claim that any deal in January is unlikely as the French Champions do not want him to go to Atletico, where he can become their bane in the Champions League should the two sides meet later in the competition.
They do not mind letting him go on a free. Despite only starting 4 games after the arrival of Mauro Icardi, they want Cavani to stay and help them fight for silverware on all three fronts in the second half of the season.
Despite his limited appearances for the Parisians this season, Cavani has still managed to find the back of the net 5 times in his 12 appearances; proving that he is still a class act and would add to any side that he eventually joins.
