Arsene Wenger set for a return to football

Arsene Wenger set for a return to football. The Arsenal Legend has been offered a new job and the confirmation could be out by October!

Arsenal Legend Arsene Wenger bid farewell to the North London club in the summer of 2018 after 22 years of service. However, the French manager is far from done from football and could make a return soon despite approaching his 70th birthday.

Mirror have reported that Wenger has been offered a technical director role with FIFA. They have added that he has informed his friends that he is ready to accept it. However, it may be a short-term job as he has made it clear that he would like a go at managing an international team at the 2022 World Cup.

“I could see myself working for a team,” Wenger told BeIN Sports. I will have enough time, distance with my last job, and I would not be against that.

‘It will be interesting because you have some countries that have shown quality, especially Qatar who has just won the Asian Cup.

‘It will be interesting to see how they develop, but overall I must say I always wanted to go to the World Cup because I felt it is the job of a manager to be where the best football players in the world play football.

‘Hopefully, you will see me, touch wood in Qatar in three years’ time. You will see me in a dugout again, when, I don’t know exactly.’

Wenger the Unbeatable

Arsene Wenger was appointed the manager of Arsenal back in 1996. He led them to a League and cup double a couple of years later. He replicated the double success in 2002 before embarking on an unbeaten season with the side in 2004!

The last time this happened in the English top-flight was 115 years ago by Preston North End. Any national team that appoints Wenger shall surely be better for it.
