Chelsea Transfer News: Atletico Madrid set to buy Spanish superstar after an ultimatum given by Chelsea

Chelsea Transfer News: Atletico Madrid set to buy Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata on a permanent basis despite the transfer ban on Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid brought Alvaro Morata from Chelsea on an 18-month long spell, but now the Spanish club is set to keep him on a permanent basis as they might have to send the Spanish striker back to Chelsea, if they do not make this move.

According to a report by the Telegraph, Chelsea have given an ultimatum to Atletico Madrid to either sign Morata for £50 million this summer or face a threat to lose him after Chelsea triggers the recall clause that was placed in his 18-month loan deal.

Therefore, the Spanish giants are preparing to make a move for the 26-year-old striker, who has been impressive for the Los Rojniblancos, since he arrived in the winter.

On the other side, Morata had a disappointing spell in England, as he failed to settle at the Stamford Bridge. The Spanish International has returned for the pre-season training at Atletico Madrid, and is sanguine that the club will be able to strike a deal with Chelsea to keep him at La Liga for further seasons.

However, the amount demanded by Chelsea is quite overpriced considering the abilities of the Spanish striker. Moreover, with Atletico Madrid completing a €126 million move for Joao Felix, the Spanish giants might feel hesitant to make another expensive signing.

It seems, considering Chelsea are amidst a transfer ban, therefore, they are clarifying the options available in the squad after Frank Lampard took over as a manager yesterday.

If Atletico Madrid able to form a deal with Chelsea, then the Blues will remain with Olivier Giroud, Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham as their striking options. Since, the West-London club decided to send Gonzalo Higuain back to Juventus.

However, Chelsea lowering the price for Morato seems slim, as they want to recover the 2017 club record cost of £57 million they spent on him, hence, it depends on the Madrid based club whether they will fulfill the demands of Chelsea or not.
