Aubameyang on Lacazette

Aubameyang on Lacazette: The duo has been impressive for Arsenal ever since the arrival of Aubameyang in January last year.

Arsenal have been shaky over the last few weeks but returned to winning ways on the weekend as they beat Chelsea 2-0.

Lacazette and Koscielny were among the goalscorers as Arsenal closed the gap with Chelsea to three points.

The partnership between Aubameyang and Lacazette has been developing positively this season, as the duo has scored 22 league goals between them. While Aubameyang is the third-highest goalscorer in the Premier League at the moment with 14 goals, the Frenchman has contributed to 13 goals with five assists to his name.

And now, the Gabon-born striker has opened up on the partnership with Lacazette.

Aubameyang on Lacazette:

After the win against Chelsea, Aubameyang praised Lacazette and the rest of the team for the victory.

“It was really nice,” he said.

“I think we did a lot of runs, a lot of effort for the team, we worked a lot, and of course we are happy when we play together because we have such a good feeling between us. It was cool.”

Talking about Lacazette, the striker talked about the ‘rivalry’ between the two, insisting that the Frenchman is good to partner with during the attack.

“I think since I joined here at Arsenal he was here and he came to me and talked to me and now we are going well. We have the same vision about football and I love him. He’s a great guy.

“It’s not a bad rivalry, we are friends when one is going well the other is happy and that’s the most important thing, to do well.

“When you have a striker like Alex near to you then he’s really good to play with. I hope we will play more games together.”

Reflecting on his own performances, Aubameyang stated that he could do more.

“Sincerely, I think I can do a bit more,” he said. “I hope I will do it.

“This gives us a lot of confidence that we can finish the season really well. This kind of win is important for all of us.

“We played very well. I think everybody put in a great effort, we played like a team and that’s why we won.”
