Manchester United ready to sell Romelu Lukaku to generate funds for Mauro Icardi or Paulo Dybala

Manchester United are ready to sell Romelu Lukaku in order to fund deal for either Mauro Icardi or Paulo Dybala.

Manchester United are planning to bring maximum new faces to their club in the summer transfer window in order to bolster their squad. The Red Devils have been getting results under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but they have been caught out because of defensive more often than not.

There is no doubt that the club will be eager to land a top centre-back in the forthcoming summer to challenge for the title. On the other hand, there is a lack of depth in the forward line. It is another option which they are trying to work on.

The front three of Manchester United consists of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Jesse Lingard. But, they don’t have any other player to look up to the bench for inspiration.

Alexis Sanchez has looked lost since he moved to Old Trafford in January 2018. Juan Mata’s contract runs down in the summer which will see him move on to another club. Another player available at disposal is Romelu Lukaku, but he has been forced to warm the bench because of the way the Red Devils are trying to play under Solskjaer.

The English Publication Mirror says that the Red Devils are willing to sell their 75 million rated striker in the summer transfer window. The Manchester United striker has been often criticized for his mobility and it is something the club is expecting from him. He has not improved in this prospect despite the change in the management.

In order to strengthen that aspect, the club is ready to bid for Paulo Dybala or Mauro Icardi before the new season kicks on. Paulo Dybala has been struggling to find his feet, scoring just three goals, whereas, Mauro Icardi has been one of the best strikers in world football over the last five years.

Currently, Inter Milan’s number 9 has been forced to sit out because the Inter Milan board have decided to strip off captaincy from him to hand it over to Samir Handanovic. Rumours started circling that the Argentine forward has a deal in principle with Juventus which has infuriated the club.

Even though he has agreed to join the reigning Italian Champions, Inter Milan could frustrate them by striking a deal with Manchester United rather. There is no doubt that both the clubs will be looking for a fee of around 100 million.
