Bangladesh will kick start their World Cup preparations with a warm-up match against Pakistan who have hit a rough patch off late. Pakistan is coming off a 4-0 series loss to England and a big loss against Afghanistan in the previous warm-up match. Bangladesh, however, come on a high having won the recently concluded tri-series involving Windies and Ireland as well.

I have picked 3 pacers for this match. The 2 Bangladeshi pacers in Mashrafe Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman have been bowling the perfect lines over the last few matches. They picked up many wickets at critical junctures even in the tri-series. They bowl a good number of overs in the death as well which might give me some extra points.
My third pacer would be Wahab Riaz. Pakistan would be disappointed with the loss against Pakistan but they would be excited to see Riaz getting a fair bit of reverse swing which tormented the Afghan batsmen. I bring in Riaz as with his swing and bounce, he can run through the weak Bangladeshi batting order.

Shakib Al Hasan, the current #1 all-rounder in the world according to ICC’s rankings, walks right into my team. Shakib has been batting at No. 3 and scoring many runs at this position. He will also be bowling a good number of overs and he has this habit of picking up wickets throughout the match. Shakib is a man for all seasons as he can eke out dismissals on the flattest of tracks. He’s in my team as the captain.
Shadab Khan is my other all-rounder in the team. Shadab has been out of action for a long time but did bowl pretty well in the last match picking up an important wicket. He can spin a web around the batsmen and I bring him in for this match also since Pakistan would surely look towards giving him sufficient match practice before the big matches start.

I have picked only 1 wicket-keeper for this match. Mushfiqur Rahim has been excellent behind the stumps and in front of it as well. He has made tons of runs in the middle order and has been one of the most consistent Bangladeshi batsmen over the years. Get him in for sure!

As many as five batsmen make it to my team for this match. Bangladeshi openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar have been hitting the ball very cleanly. They form a good partnership at the top of the order and have individually performed up to the mark as well.
In the recently concluded tri-series, they were instrumental in taking Bangladesh to victory. They scored at least a 50 in most of the matches. I have to include them in my team at any cost.
Pakistani openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam ul Haq are in my team as well. They both have had a good month as they smashed their way to some big scores against England. They both scored at least a century and would want to bat well in this warm-up to carry the momentum into the World Cup.
I bring them both in along with Babar Azam. This man has been phenomenal with the bat in hand and left cricket fans in awe. A lot of Pakistan’s batting depends on him and he has the ability to carry that pressure. He will be determined to score some more runs after scoring a mind-blowing 112 run knock off just 108 balls in the previous warm-up match against Afghanistan. He will be my vice captain as well.
