Barcelona is all set to battle with Real Madrid in pursuit of Santos wonder kid Rodrygo Goes, with both the clubs admitting their interest in the Brazilian.

The Brazilian has been on the radar of European Giants since last year and now it is reported that Los Blancos and Catalans have entered the battle to sign the prodigy.

Rodrygo, who is just 17 currently, has been compared with former Blaugrana star Neymar.

The Brazilian possesses incredible maturity, far beyond his age, Rodrygo has sent a gesticulating message across entire Europe with his performances. Rodrygo has been making waves over in the Serie A, earmarking himself as one of the division’s top young talents.

According to Lluis Miguelsanz of Sport, the Catalan giants have been in contact with the Brazilian outfit and the player’s representatives over potentially signing Rodrygo and are now in a pole position to sign the player. Miguelsanz in his report added that Barcelona has been scouting the wonder kid for the last few months and has found out that he has a €50 million release clause in his contract with Santos.

After all the arrivals and departures in this transfer window, it is said that Ernesto Valverde is quite happy with the squad. However, it is said that Roberto Fernandez and Pep Segura have already begun working on their targets for the future.

It is said that both are working on a deal to bring Rodrigo Goes to the club, whose release clause is set at €50 Million. But it won’t be that easy for them to get him as Real Madrid are also interested in the player.

A forward by position, Rodrygo made his first-team debut for Santos in November last year, soon after signing his first professional contract with his childhood club. In March this year, he then became the youngest player ever to score in the Copa Libertadores when he found the net in a 3-1 defeat of Uruguayan outfit Club Nacional.

However, it won’t come as a surprise to anyone if he joins Barcelona or Real Madrid as he is looking forward to trying a new challenge abroad in near future and there aren’t any names bigger then Barcelona and Real Madrid as of now.

The forward is baptized to be the next Neymar in Brazil. Physically and technically, signs are really good for the Santos prodigy. His maturity is beyond his age which is really a good sign. And with a number of clubs dying to get his signatures it clearly gives an indication of his potential.
