Barcelona legend Ronaldinho set to make a return to the Camp Nou in August. The Brazilian played for the Catalan club from 2003 to 2008.

Ronaldinho is undoubtedly one of the best players to have ever donned a Barcelona jersey. His introduction to the side in 2003 was so impactful that his then captain, Carles Puyol went on to say that he had given Barcelona their spirit back.

He would leave the club in 2008 for AC Milan. However, during his stay at the Camp Nou, he won the FIFA World player of the year twice in a row and also won a Ballon d’Or. He also received a standing ovation at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This was a rare feat considering the rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid and that had previously only been granted to Diego Maradona during his time at the same club. Most importantly for Barcelona though, Ronaldinho played a starring role in Barcelona winning their first Champions League title since 1992.

According to RAC1 in Spain, Ronaldinho will, on August 19th, receive a special testimonial and tribute for his contribution to Blaugrana history as part of a Barça Legends match. The testimonial should feature several of his former teammates and fellow legends from the mid-2000s.

According to Diario AS, the farewell match should and would have taken place earlier. However, the Catalan club and the player couldn’t come to an agreement regarding the dates or anything else in general.
