Guardiola will kill City stars if they get complacent, after a wonderful start to the season.
Premier League leaders City continued their flying start to the season, after winning their 12th consecutive game.
They already have their one hand on the silverware, but the City boss Guardiola has warned his squad of complacency and has said that he would kill them, if they drop their current standards.
He said: “Complacency? That is not going to happen. I will kill them. The team is going to come first.”
He even addressed some questions about transfers, and said that they will break their bank accounts to bring in a new central defender after John Stones took up a hamstring injury and is expected to be out of action till next year.
Guardiola said: “We have a real, real problem in that position. The assessment isn’t good.
“He will be out for a long time – we will miss him for a month or six weeks. ”
Guardiola even saw that Stones played in both of the England’s recent friendly games, when asked about this he said: “You play 90 minutes, 90 minutes, 90 minutes and then go to your international team and play two 90-minute games that don’t count for anything in terms of points.”
Vincent Company is back after a long layoff, but Guardiola is in no hurry to see him on the field for full 90 minutes, he said: “We have to be careful in terms of how many minutes we give him and how he feels because he was out for two and a half months.”
