He said: “Complacency? That is not going to happen. I will kill them. The team is going to come first.”
He even addressed some questions about transfers, and said that they will break their bank accounts to bring in a new central defender after John Stones took up a hamstring injury and is expected to be out of action till next year.
Guardiola said: “We have a real, real problem in that position. The assessment isn’t good.
“He will be out for a long time – we will miss him for a month or six weeks. ”
Guardiola even saw that Stones played in both of the England’s recent friendly games, when asked about this he said: “You play 90 minutes, 90 minutes, 90 minutes and then go to your international team and play two 90-minute games that don’t count for anything in terms of points.”
Vincent Company is back after a long layoff, but Guardiola is in no hurry to see him on the field for full 90 minutes, he said: “We have to be careful in terms of how many minutes we give him and how he feels because he was out for two and a half months.”
