According to various transfer market sources, Premier League giants, Liverpool, are showing interest in Barcelona target, Christian Eriksen.

Liverpool are tempted to make a move for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder this summer, with Eriksen’s long-term future with Spurs in doubt. On the other hand, Barcelona are also monitoring the situation of the midfielder.

The Merseyside club is reported to be one of the latest clubs to spark an interested in Eriksen, after he has shined in the Premier League and in Europe with Tottenham Hotspur consistently.

The performances of the Danish midfielder in the league and in the Champions League against big clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, have attracted a lot of interest from big clubs.

Eriksen’s Tottenham drew 2-2 against Serie A giants, Juventus in Turin, in the first leg of their round of 16 clashes.

If various reports are to be believed, the Danish midfielder was spotted by various European giants, who must have had a good impression of the creative midfielder, after he scored the equalizer for Spurs in the game. It was reported that Liverpool and Barcelona scouts attended the game.

La Liga giants, Barcelona, were also heavily linked to make a move for Christian Eriksen, as the Blaugranas look to replace PSG superstar, Neymar. Nevertheless, Barcelona signed Ousmane Dembele in the summer and Philippe Coutinho in the winter transfer window, but still remain interested in signing Eriksen.

Liverpool have now entered the race in signing the Tottenham star, with the Anfield outfit having recently sold superstar Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona. And evidently, the Reds have not yet signed a replacement for the Brazilian.

After a rather dormant January transfer window, apart from the signing of Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool will monitor the situation of Eriksen at Tottenham, with the Danish midfielder aiming to win some trophies in his career.

Juventus as well have been reported to have an interest in Eriksen, and could be making a move for the midfielder if he refuses to sign a new deal at the North London side. Tottenham, however, have always been reluctant to increase the wages of their current stars.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have had a rather active transfer window, signing Lucas Moura and being interested in Bordeaux star Malcolm.

Malcolm can be viewed as a long-term replacement for Christian Eriksen, as the Bordeaux player was linked with a move to Tottenham. Due to the huge wage demands of Eriksen, Tottenham Hotspurs eyed alternatives, including AC Milan’s Adrien Silva.

The 25-year-old Eriksen has played 211 games for the North London side, scoring 50 times in the process. He has also assisted 64 times, and has netted eight goals and given as many assists in 32 games across all competitons this season.

Tottenham’s history of losing their prized superstars including Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, will not be favourable for the North London side, as Eriksen will be looking to leave the team if the club does not meet his wage demands.
