Barcelona Transfer News: Tottenham open to negotiate Harry Kane transfer. The Catalan club have identified him as Luis Suarez’s replacement.

According to Catalunya Radio, Tottenham are also willing to negotiate with the Spanish side over a potential deal. However, given Barcelona’s lack of funds at the moment and Harry Kane’s injury, any development surrounding the transfer will probably take place in the summer.

The report adds that the transfer is expected to cost Barcelona a massive £127million (€150m). However, the side are desperate for someone to fill Luis Suarez’s shoes and in Kane they will receive one of the best forwards in the world right now.

The reason why Tottenham are open to negotiate Harry Kane transfer

Jose Mourinho, during his appointment as Tottenham manager, claimed that Harry Kane would not be sold.

“I think as managers we must have also this feeling of what is possible, what is not possible,” Mourinho said.

“And I think when you try to buy Kane it’s just an impossible mission.”

“He’s one of the best strikers in the world, no doubt, no doubt. He just needs his team, with him, if his team is England or if his team is Tottenham, he just needs his team to bring him, or to go with him to the next level.

“And what is the next level? Titles. I think he needs to win, with us, with England, he needs to bring something to highlight the quality that he has as a player.

“The goals he scores, what he brings to the team. Top striker. And you’re right, I’ve worked with some of the top ones.”

So why the turn around now?

Interestingly, the reason why Tottenham are open to Harry Kane’s transfer,  according to the radio station is to recoup some of the £1 billion they spent on their new stadium.

Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on Edinson Cavani, whose contract runs out in the summer.
