Messi’s new contract with Barcelona is rumoured to be worth around £500,000 a week.

Messi’s contract expires this summer and this has left the space for many rumours.

In a recent interview, Manchester City star, Sergio Agüero said he’ll love to see Messi at the Ethiad Stadium and will be excited to share the dressing room with him.

While speaking to TyC Sport, he said,

“The money isn’t a problem here.”

“But I think Messi, like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, are players who are symbols of their clubs and it’s difficult for them to leave.”

“I would love to have Leo on my team, but that seems quite complicated.”

Agüero is currently out of action after fracturing his ribs in a car accident in Amsterdam, last week. He was expected to be out of action for 6-8 weeks, but some new reports suggest that star is aiming for an early return and plans to play against Stoke, on Friday.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are leading the La Liga points table and are five points clear of second placed Sevilla, after maintaining a perfect start to the season, winning all the match they’ve played.

While their arch rivals Real Madrid are placed fifth in table, after having a depressed start to the season.
