Paradox Interactive are behind this series of historical grand strategy game. Players can start of as emperors, kings, dukes and counts and try to cement their dynasty’s name through the echelons of history. You can emulate the jorney of historical figures like Charlemagne, the Vikings and many more or simply start as your own custom dynasty figurehead.
There is a learning curve however, but as players figure it out the game is hours of fun. There is military tactics, politics, spying, religion, managing your subjects, vassals and economy and much more. The game can be downloaded from the steam store.
2. Civilization 6 –
Civizlation 6 or Civ 6 is a turn basd strategy game. Based on the the 4X gameplay elements, “eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate” players develop their civilations through the ages. They also develop their civilization’s technology, culture and government structure from the past to the future.
They found cities and grow them through the creation of mines, farms and other improvement. You can also trade and be friendly with other players or simply go to war with them. The game is available on Epic games store and also on steam.
3. Total War: Three Kingdoms –
Ever dreamed of commanding entire armies as a general? Then the Total War series is for you. The game is set in China around the year 220-280. The period is of the historical Three Kingdoms, hence the name.
The players command various generals and retinues of troops. Each general and faction have their advantages and disadvantages. Siege battles are a regular feature of the game. In the end you have to eliminate other factions and unify China. The game is available on steam.
