Good news is coming out from the BCCI’s official social media handles that has confirmed Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s return to full fitness following a back injury. The world class pace bowler suffered a blow to the lower area of his back in the limited over format during India’s tour of England and Ireland.
Unfortunately, the problem needed lengthy treatment that resulted in the Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer being ruled out of the five match test series. However, he has now returned to full fitness one month later after he returned back to India after having suffered the injury.
It has now been announced that Bhuvneshwar Kumar will begin his return to cricket after being included in the squad for the quadrangular series against South Africa A and Australia A starting on Wednesday. The injury to his back came as a vital blow for India whose team was poor in the first two matches.
A victory for the Blue men made sure that they are still in contention for a 2-2 tie and possibly the series victory in the United Kingdom. After two successive losses in Birmingham and London, the Indians got a foot back into the series with a hard earned victory at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
The fourth test now gets underway on Friday, the 30th of August with a visit to Southampton. The stakes will be high for this one as India will have the moment on their side to level it off at 2-2. That would signify the test series going right down to the wire with the fifth test yet to go in London.
If India can carry the good form and win the fourth test, then Bhuvneshwar Kumar might come back into the fray for the final match as he would have already played a game and would have some touch of the ball after a month long injury.
