Liverpool were thoroughly outplayed by Frank Lampard’s side. Goals from Willian and Ross Barkley set the tone for the win but it was Billy Gilmour who made the biggest splash in the match. The 18-year old completely dominated the midfield.

In fact, one of the highlights of the match was when Gilmour sent Liverpool’s Fabinho back to Monaco with a nutmeg that made the Brazilian look like Bambi on ice. If Olivier Giroud would have scored from there then it would have completed one of the most fantastic sequence in football.
