Blaise Matuidi on Ronaldo

Blaise Matuidi on Ronaldo: Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi praised Cristiano Ronaldo’s work ethic after the game against Manchester United.

The stories about Cristiano Ronaldo’s work-ethic have been long told, ever since the forward’s Manchester United days. His teammates and coaches have often talked about how passionate Ronaldo was towards fitness and improving his game.

Blaise Matuidi, the Juventus midfielder has now talked about how Ronaldo inspired the Juventus side after the game against Manchester United.

The Italian side played United in their Champions League group-stage fixture last week, and emerged 1-0 winners, with Dybala’s goal making the sole difference.

Matuidi stated that the team was exhausted after a hard-fought game at Old Trafford, but Ronaldo was charged-up as ever even after the game, and pushed everyone in the side.

Blaise Matuidi on Ronaldo:

Matuidi reflected on Ronaldo’s passion towards the game, and hunger to be the best on the field.

“We were all dead tired after the match against Manchester United and the day after, except Cristiano,” Matuidi said in an interview with RMC Sport.

“He’s been working like crazy ever since he got here. He’s been at it more than anyone else and he told me he ‘had to’ behave like that.”

The midfielder insisted that Ronaldo has been an example to the team and his influence on the team is felt on and off the field.

“That’s why at 33, he’s been an example for all of us and given us an extra stimulus. His influence isn’t limited to his work during the week.

“He’s also crucial over the 90 minutes. He can do things that others can’t to help improve the team’s game. Everyone feels much stronger alongside him. He’s a leader in this sense.”

Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid in a stunning 100m euros deal. The Portuguese forward recently opened up on his decision to leave the Spanish side.

Ronaldo insisted that his relationship with Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez deteriorated with time, which eventually led to the move.

The former Manchester United star is enjoying his life in Turin, however. Ronaldo has scored 7 Serie A goals in 10 appearances as Juventus sits at the top of the table, 6 points ahead of second-placed Inter Milan.
