Cristiano Ronaldo scored an absolute screamer against Juventus, as the legendary goal scorer executed an outrageous overhead kick to practically seal the tie for Real Madrid.
The Portuguese superstar gave his side the perfect start, as Ronaldo poked home the opener in only the third minute of the match. With seven goals in his last five matches against the Old Lady, Ronaldo was almost expected to score today.
There was almost a sense of inevitability of his goal, as the Portuguese legend continued his super human goal scoring record in the UEFA Champions League.
It also marked Ronaldo’s tenth successive goal in the competition, as he continued to write his name in the footballing folklore.
But it was second goal that will be talked about for some time to come, as Ronaldo executed an inch perfect overhead kick to give Real a two-goal lead. The Juventus supporters then rose as one to applaud the Portuguese legend, as Ronaldo received a standing ovation in Turin.
Almost immediately after Ronaldo’s goal, Paulo Dybala was sent off after a second yellow card to put a serious dent in Juventus’ hopes in the competition. Marcelo then completely killed the tie, as he scored Real’s third away goal to effectively book their eight successive semi-final spot.
The highlight of the night though was the fantastic sportsman spirit shown by the Juventus faithful, as their heartwarming gesture will be one of the best moments in Champions League history.
