Borussia Dortmund stars including Jadon Sancho to quarantine after breaking hygiene protocol

Borussia Dortmund stars including Jadon Sancho have to follow quarantine after allegedly breaking hygiene protocols in Germany.

With the spread of Coronavirus decreasing in Germany, the German government has eased many restrictions which includes restart of Bundesliga, however, certain preventive measures were announced.

And in the recent report published by Bild and Ruhr Nachrichten, five Dortmund players violated hygiene protocol when a barber visited them at their respective homes for a hair cut without a mask.

These players include Jadon Sancho, Axel Witsel, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Manuel Akanji, and Raphael Guerreiro. Now, all these players have been instructed to be placed in quarantine for time being to ensure no possible transmission of the virus.

These set of players have been criticized for wearing protective masks during the course of the interaction with the barber. Moreover, it has been reported that Sancho and his teammates did not even inform their club about this too.

he players could, therefore, face a hefty fine from the German FA along with having to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period. The barber named Winnie Nana Karkari told Bild that he did wear a protective mask and removed it only while clicking pictures with the Dortmund players.

The report claims the barber is “meticulous” when it comes to personal hygiene. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund has released a statement over this incident.

“It is pretty common that our guys must get their hair cut after all these months,” Dortmund responded to Bild when questioned over the story.

“But it surely is a no-go, from both sides, to not wear a mask. We will remind our players about that very, very clearly. Also: the stylist should ask himself about his behaviour, too.”
