Borussia Dortmund star makes a big revelation about Madrid

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains hot property in the world of football and has now talked up about a move from Borussia Dortmund suggesting he could replace Antoine Griezmann at Atletico Madrid.

The Gabonese international was subject to heavy transfer speculation during the summer but chose to remain at Signal Iduna Park for the season. Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and recently, even Everton were linked with a move.

And then, he denied reports claiming he’s penned down a new contract which would keep him at Dortmund until 2022.

Development at the Signal Iduna Park:

Borussia Dortmund signed Aubameyang during the summer of 2013, in a bid to replace Robert Lewandowski. Since then, he has been the first players on the team sheet.

He proved his material yet again, bagging 21 goals from a mere 23 games so far this season.

Now, as Antoine Griezmann looks closer to a move to Barcelona, Aubameang had his say on the topic. His future looks uncertain, and this comment has sparked debate on a possible move to Madrid.

“In the winter market a lot can happen, also for me,” he said.

“Everyone knows that Atletico is looking for players who can replace Griezmann. If, finally, he leaves in the coming weeks, anything can happen.”

What Aubameyang adds to Atleti:

It is almost impossible to replace a superstar such as Antoine Griezmann, but Aubameyang is the closest you can get. The striker, along with Luciano Vietto and Kevin Gameiro can provide a new dimension to Athletico’s offence.

If they do lose Griezmann, then Aubameyang would mean a boost to both their domestic and international campaigns- hopefully, a Europa League for Atletico this season.  And their strongest competitors being Borussia Dortmund.

Stay tuned for more updates.
