Liverpool enter this season as the reigning Champions League winners following success against Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid. Entering the new campaign is not only about dealing with the pressure, but proving the world about the breathtaking script in the previous season.

In spite of comprising Paris Saint Germain, Napoli, and Red Star Belgrade, Jurgen Klopp’s side found a way to secure qualification to the knockout stages. They overcame Bayern Munich in an exceptional manner, before breezing past Porto in the last eight of the tournament.

In the Semifinals, despite being in a 3-0 deficit, Liverpool scripted a historic comeback in Anfield. Gini Wijnaldum and Divock Origi scored braces to complete a resounding comeback. They did not look at their best, but goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi enabled Liverpool to get their hands on the Champions League trophy.

Liverpool have been placed in Group H. It consists of Napoli, Red Bull Salzburg, and Genk.
