One of the most vicious knockout artist of all time, Mike Tyson once opened up about how he feared his own violent capabilities. Before retirement, Tyson was considered the most dangerous boxer. However, after his retirement Tyson revealed about how he feared his own violent capabilities. Tyson had huge success quite early in his career, being the youngest heavyweight champion of all time. Perhaps his success was credited to his mentality and persona.

Every fighter who stepped inside the ring feared Tyson. During his illustrious career, Tyson amassed a spectacular 50 wins. What’s more, 44 out of those 50 wins were knockouts. During an interview, Tyson even revealed that he was aiming to kill his opponents.

Deep down inside there was a sensitive side of Tyson who was afraid of inflicting damage to his opponents and his violent power. During his professional career, Tyson often showed how ruthless he was with his performance inside the ring. However, reflecting upon his past Tyson once showed just how scared he was of himself.

Mike Tyson broke down in front of his therapist

Tyson had a candid conversation with his Therapist on his podcast Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. During the podcast the usually fearless Tyson revealed how scared he was of himself. During the podcast Tyson was accompanied by Sean McFarland his therapist. McFarland knows the ups and downs Tyson went through and it was easier for Tyson to reveal his fears with McFarland.

Tyson said, “I am so scared that I am so violent. I can’t control my violence. Does that make any sense to you? Me, I’m Mike Tyson. I’m so fu***** scared of everything. The only thing I know is to attack. They don’t believe that I hate myself.

An emotional Tyson revealed how much internal struggle he was facing knowing his own violent capabilities. He knew that in order to be immortalized in boxing he had to win in the most ruthless and vicious manner possible against his opponent. However the sensitive side in him was in too much pain because of this. He tried to make sense of it in his own way. Once he revealed how he feels about himself and his past.

Tyson revealed why he as feared

Despite retiring Tyson is quite active on social media. Furthermore, his YouTube channel has millions of followers and he quite actively uploads podcasts on it. Once during an episode with Sugar Ray Leonard, Tyson revealed how he felt about his past.

Tyson said, “I know the art of fight, I know the art of war, that’s all I ever studied. That’s why they feared me when I was in the ring, I was an annihilator. It’s all I was born for. Now, those days are gone. It’s empty. I’m nothing. I’m working on the art of humbleness. That’s the reason I’m crying, because I’m not that person no more, and I miss him. Sometimes I feel like a bit*h because I don’t want that person to come out. Because if he comes out, hell will come with him. And I’m scared of him.

Tyson has transformed himself to a more humble and family oriented human being post retirement. Afterall he is a father of six children and has a loving family. However, it was quite interesting to understand the mindset of a ruthless champion, how he viewed and missed his former self.
