BRB Vs ADL Dream 11 Prediction: Brisbane Roar look to clobber an Adelaide side caught in the midst of a dilemma.

For Adelaide United, the three month break in A-League 2019-20 couldn’t have come at a more ideal time. Floundering and dwindling in form to register a measly one win in their last five clashes back in March, the side sat in dire need of breathing space in a bid to chart out a new gameplan to revive their languishing season.

Flayed by everyone they were encountering, the side ended up being clobbered 3-0 by Newcastle Jets in their last clash before Coronavirus struck the country. It was a result which spelled doom for the side with the showing finally seeing the club end outside of the top 6 and with it lose their grip on a spot in the playoffs.

Where they were persistently on a downtick in the competition, things were not so for Brisbane Roar. The club registered three quick wins to nestle itself into third place, a clinical and efficient side that was ruthless in latching onto its chances, results which earned the trust of ActronAir to stick by the club’s side for two more seasons.

“In these uncertain and challenging times, the importance of sticking together has never been clearer. It’s with that spirit in mind that we’re thrilled to extend our relationship as Principal Partner of Brisbane Roar for two more years. Like ActronAir, we know that the Roar tirelessly strive for excellence throughout their organisation, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue their march back to where they belong – the top of the A-League table,” ActronAir Director Robert Mundy said.

Probable Winner

With both the side’s competing in their first match in over four months in the showpiece competition, its not the easiest of tasks to determine how this will shape out. However, Brisbane Roar hold a clear and distinct advantage with the team taking on a died that had shipped in over three goals in three of its last four matches, a defence which will allow Brisbane Heat to win this one.

Dream 11 Picks

Goal-Keeper

The only chance Adelaide United have of salvaging anything at all from this tie and coming out unscathed on the day is if they can pacify Brisbane’s attacking unit. This Brisbane side is not renowned for its attacking acumen and with Paul Izzo safeguarding his side’s sticks, the home team will be quietly confident of overhauling their defensive ambit.

Defenders

For Brisbane Roar, the gameplan has been a simple and straightforward one this season. Coming to terms with the fact that they weren’t blessed with the most well endowed of attacking ambits, the team reverted all of its attention towards defence to emerge as an extremely mean and stern backline.

One of the trickiest teams to score against, this is a side that has let in a meagre 24 goals in the coemption, a team deserving of seeing us indulge in three names from their slot. We begin with wingback Corey Brown, a player who along with his acumen in defence has added a spark of life to the side’s attack as well with his demeanour while cantering up the park helping the side in its endeavours.

The CB pairing of Macauley Gillesphey and Scott Neville joins up, two names who have provided unstinted support to emerge as the watchdogs of their side’s 3-5-2 defensive gameplan.

Midfielders

All across of the course of the season before the turn of COVID, Riley McGree played a crucial role in whatever success Adelaide were tasting on the field. The team’s top scorer with a behemoth 10 goals and 3 assists, the player emerged as a tough nut to crack, a midfielder who was torching the roof owing to the manner in which he was debunking defences.

James Troisi slots in alongside him, two players who will be responsible for the side’s success in the attacking department. Brisbane on the other hand will see us make two goal man Brad Inman and Jay O’Shea a part of our glistening and robust pairing from the side.

Strikers

At a time when Brisbane Roar were left perplexed on how to score, Scott McDonald emerged as a beacon of light for them. The striker is leading the side’s scoring ranks with his 5 goals and 2 assists, numbers which make him an instant pick for us.

He’s joined up by Mirza Muratovic with this partnership set to fill its shoes today as the two force the hand of a side that leaked 13 goals in 3 matches back in March. George Blackwood will meanwhile be our pick from Adelaide with the player currently finding himself second in the pile of the club’s top scorer.

Captain And Vice-Captain

With 5 goals, Scott slots his way into our side as the captain while Inman is the vice-captain.

Dream 11 Team
