His feat came in the winning cause as Los Blancos defeated The Bavarians 4-2 and 6-3 on aggregate as the Spanish giants progressed to the semi-final stage of the champions league. Centurion Ronaldo creates more history as Real Madrid become favorites for the UCL !

With both Barcelona and Bayern knocked out of the Champions League, bookies will now consider Real the favorites for the title.

The 32-year old came to Madrid’s rescue once again as Zinedine Zidane’s side looked close to being eliminated on the home soil at the quarterfinal stage by the Allianz Arena outfit.

It seems that breaking records and creating new records has become Ronaldo’s hobby. One cannot keep him away from creating records as the Portuguese international became the first player to score 100 goals in European competition last week when he scored a brace against the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the first leg of the quarterfinal.

The race to score 100 goals in the champions league became more interesting as two of the best players in the world football i.e., Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were competing against each other to break the record. But the Portuguese captain won the race comfortably beating his Argentine counterpart by a margin of 6 goals. Lionel Messi who is on 94 goals, six behind the Portuguese international would have been hoping to add goals to his tally and close the gap on his close rival when Barcelona took on Juventus yesterday. But that did not happen.

The Real Madrid star reached the landmark in his 137th Champions league appearance. His first goal came against Roma for Manchester United back in 2007. Bayern has always remained his favourite team to score against as he has scored 9 out of his 100 goals against the German giants two more than any other opponent. He loves scoring against German clubs as he has scored a total of 23 goals against German clubs.

Tuesday night hat-trick against Bayern was the sixth hat-trick of Ronaldo in the Champions league though his rival Lionel Messi holds the record for most hat-trick in the champions league tournament with seven hat-tricks to his name. Ronaldo also became the first player to score two quarterfinal hat-tricks having done the same last season when he scored hat-trick against Wolfsburg.
