Chelsea have made a late bid to sign Bayern Munich ace Renato Sanches on loan. According to multiple sources, Chelsea are keen on Renato Sanches, a Bayern Munich midfielder.

Reports had emerged earlier this week claiming that Chelsea officials have inquired the availability of the Portugese midfielder. This transpires after their pre-season encounter with the Bundesliga player.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is believed to have spoken with Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti over the future of Sanches.

This is to bring the youngster on a season long loan to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are keen on bringing in the midfielder as Conte believes he will be a very versatile option.

United under Louis Van Gaal were heavily linked with signing the Portugal international before he opted for Bayern. Jose Mourinho admitted he would have ‘fought’ for the midfielder had he been appointed boss earlier last summer.

Sky Sports claim that Italy is said to be his preferred destination despite interest from the English clubs. Moreover, AC Milan has also been negotiating with the player and the club over the last month or so.

However if Chelsea do manage to convince Sanches to make the move to Stamford Bridge, it would be a big coup for the Blues.

Sanches was the break out star of the Euros last year, when his power and penetration in the midfield was a huge asset to Portugal. Much was expected from the youngster after his big move to Bayern, but nothing much came out of it.

A move to England could probably prove to be a fantastic move for him, as he would a new lease of life and have a good season ahead of the World Cup.
