Suarez goal vs Atletico Madrid: Barca striker scores stunning opener against Atletico

Suarez goal vs Atletico Madrid: The Barca star opened the side’s goalscoring late in the second half with a brilliant strike.

Luis Suarez scored his 20th goal of the league this season in style, as he opened the scoring against Atletico Madrid.

Minutes after Suarez’s goal, Messi doubled the lead for the side with an incredible solo goal as Barcelona inched a step closer to their second consecutive La Liga title.

The Catalan giants are now 11 points ahead of Diego Simeone’s side, whose only hopes of domestic silverware now look over.

Atletico Madrid maintained pressure on Barcelona, despite losing Diego Costa early in the game due to verbal dissent with the referee. However, they couldn’t hold Barcelona’s attack for long, as Jan Oblak’s series of saves went in vain.

Luis Suarez’s goal vs Atletico Madrid:

The fortune favours the brave, and so it did for Luis Suarez.

The Barcelona striker tried his luck from outside the box in the 85th minute of the game as the side made desperate attempts to find an opener in the game.

As luck would have it, Jan Oblak misjudged the strike as Barcelona gained the much-needed lead in the game.

A minute later, Lionel Messi danced past the defenders to double the lead for the Catalan side, as Barcelona reinstated their authority in the league.

Here’s Luis Suarez’s goal from the game:

Barcelona will now travel to Old Trafford as they take on Manchester United in the Champions League. The side’s hopes of a successful season are pinned on their Champions League run, as Barcelona have faced disappointment in the quarterfinals of the competition for the last three seasons.

Ernesto Valverde’s side also reached the final of the Copa del Rey in February, where they take on Valencia.

If all goes well for Barcelona, Messi and co. might end their season with a treble.
