Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard has made his mind regarding the purchase of Nathan Ake in the ongoing transfer window.
Chelsea have had a mixed season. The Blues have played a fearless brand of football with several of their youngsters coming good. However, the side have been poor at the back and this has cost them a few wins, especially in the last month or so.

The side have the opportunity to bring in Nathan Ake from Bournemouth for £40million this month to help sort their backline. The young defender left Stamford Bridge back in 2017 for half that fee. However, Chelsea included a buyback clause in the contract that is set to expire at the end of January.
Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, however, is not likely to take that offer up according to The Sun, who had previously claimed that unless Andreas Christensen was moved, Nathan Ake wouldn’t be making a return to West London in January.
Lampard rules out Christensen move
Andreas Christensen was linked with moves to AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Juventus with the Italian club being the front runner. However, Lampard has since ruled that move out. Speaking after the win over Burnley, the Blues head coach said:
“Yes, I can rule it out [a move to AC Milan].
“I like Andreas as a player. I’ve always liked him. I used to train with him and saw the talent coming through.
“He is certainly a player that gets slightly misjudged on age.
“I think he’s been around a long time and went on loan at a young age and did particularly well and people think that he’s probably older than he is.
“He’s still relatively young so that’s absolutely on his side.
“What I want from Andreas is to be the best he can be.
“When you see him and you see the height, the athleticism and the quality on the ball, particularly in choice of pass, then I think he can be all the things I want him to be and I want to work towards that. He knows that.
“What I will say is those little bits in his game can really make him the fantastic centre-half I think he can be.”
Christensen seemed to have fallen behind Fiyako Tomori, Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger in the pecking order. However, following Lampard’s statement, it seems that Christensen is still very much a part of his plans at Stamford Bridge, which effectively rules out Nathan Ake’s arrival; at least in this season.
