Chelsea transfer news Frank Lampard is looking to replace Kepa with another Premier League keeper

Chelsea transfer news: Frank Lampard is looking to replace Kepa with another Premier League keeper in the Summer Transfer window.

Chelsea have allowed for a very number of shots on target this season. However, the very few times that the attackers get the ball past the defence, Kepa has proven to be ineffective at keeping it out of his net most of the time.

In fact, he has been so poor this season, that he ranks at 127th out of 132 keepers in the top leagues in Europe. He has already conceded 32 goals in the Premier League so far, which is the worst among the top 8 sides.

His manager Frank Lampard has publicly spoken out on Kepa’s need to improve between the sticks and it seems that the Spaniard is running out of time to prove to his boss that he indeed deserves his place at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea identify Kepa’s replacement

Bleacher report’s Dean Jones, has now reported that the London side are weighing the thought of parting with the keeper in the summer and could use the cash to replace him with Burnley glovesman Nick Pope in the summer.

Nick Pope has conceded 6 goals more than the Spaniard. However, he has 9 clean sheets to Kepa’s 7 and has continued to impress this season. He made his England debut last year and kept a clean sheet during the three Lions 4-0 rout over Kosovo in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

While Pope is not a certainty to take Kepa’s place in the Chelsea side, it seems that Kepa’s place may not be certain as well should he continue to perform in the manner that he has this term.
