Chelsea will try to sign Barcelona’s midfielder if Eden Hazard leaves to Real Madrid in the summer.

Chelsea will face an uphill battle to keep their star player Eden Hazard for the next campaign. The Blues will not want to lose the attacker as he is far-reaching, offering an enormous threat to the opponents in the offensive areas of the pitch. Besides, his creativity and panache to find spaces in between the lines and penetrate the ball makes him almost irreplaceable.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid forced Florentino Perez to make an instant move for Eden Hazard whose contract expires in 2020. But, new manager Maurizio Sarri’s request to keep him at Stamford Bridge did not go for a toss.

However, they might struggle to keep him post this summer, but the club will have a huge call to take because they cannot afford to lose a huge transfer fee for him and cannot enter the next season without him, especially after being hit the transfer ban. It’s an ambiguous situation at Stamford Bridge currently.

Zinedine Zidane has been keeping one eye on the 28-year-old and would want to secure his signature this summer. Various reports suggest that the Blues will be willing to do business for a fee of around 100 million euros in the summer transfer window.

The Spanish publication Sport say that the Blues will do business with Real Madrid’s arch-rivals Barcelona if the transfer ban is lifted. It is understood that the club are plotting a move for the Brazilian attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho who is having an underwhelming campaign at Nou Camp.

Chelsea’s appeal have been turned down by FIFA, but the club is hopeful of seeing the transfer ban getting lifted soon. The report also adds on that the former Liverpool midfielder would like to get reunited with his compatriots Willian, David Luiz, and also Brazil born duo Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri.

But, the Blues will face a battle from Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain as both the clubs eye the Barcelona misfit. The Blaugrana midfielder has reportedly told his teammates about his struggles at the club and his consideration should an offer arrive from other clubs in the summer.

Barcelona will be determined to recoup 100 million upfront with several add-ons as they prepare to bring in some fresh new faces including Luka Jovic and Matthijs De Ligt.
