FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017: Local Organising Committee launches volunteer programme
In what can be termed as a historic move by FIFA and the LOC(Local Organising Committee), people from all over the nation will have the chance to aid and facilitate the smooth functioning and organisation of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.
The U-17 World Cup is being seen as that window which will open the world of football to India. Despite boasting of a population of more than 1 billion people, India has never been able to produce a good enough set of 15 people who can compete at the highest level. There are multiple reasons for it, but hosting the U-17 World Cup could help us switch focus from the ‘why not’ to the ‘how’.
Speaking about the launch, Chairman of the LOC, Praful Patel said: “This is an opportunity for all our countrymen to be involved in the tournament which will be a historic event for India.”
