Chelsea unveil iconic retro kit to celebrate 50th anniversary of first FA Cup title. The Jersey will be available to buy from January 2nd next year.
Chelsea have decided to honour the 50th anniversary of their first ever triumph in the FA Cup by releasing a special kit in the design of the one that was worn by the players that helped bring the silverware to West London.
In that match, Chelsea played with yellow socks and yellow trims on the blue shorts instead of their traditional white socks and trims, in order to avoid a colour clash with Leeds United in the final. The club have bought the kit back with a minor change. They have adopted a golden lion badge to be in keeping with the rest of the trim detail.

Celebrating 50 years since our first FA Cup triumph in 1970!
The 1970 final replay crest and colourways have been brought back for this @nikefootball commemorative kit. 💙💛

“Paying tribute to this moment from the rich heritage of the club, this crest from 1970 final replay has been brought back with this commemorative kit, replicated through a modern silicone execution. The jersey itself is royal blue throughout, while yellow comes through with the shorts trim, badge, socks and even the players’ numbers – matching the colourway of the original.”
“It is also the first time a tonal Nike swoosh and partner branding that blends into the colourway itself has been adopted for a truly authentic modern-day jersey. Chelsea sends a special thank you to our club partners Yokohama and Hyundai for their support with the design.” Chelsea FC have written on their website.
The kit will be worn for the first time in their FA Cup third round match against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on January 5. It will go on sale in the Megastore as well as Nike.com on January 2.
