Conte turns down Real Madrid

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte turns down Real Madrid job, as he awaits Mourinho’s fate at Manchester United, according to reports.

Antonio Conte had been rigorously linked with a move to Real Madrid as speculations over Lopetegui’s future grew. However, the rumors have cooled down for the time being as Real Madrid have appointed their reserve-team coach Santiago Solari as the manager on a provisional basis.

While the Italian manager is still tempted by the prospect of managing Real Madrid, reports from Italy are linking him with a possible move to Manchester United as well.

Sky’s Giovani Guardala believes that Conte has not taken a decision on his future yet, and is eager to see how Mourinho performs at Manchester United in the immediate future.

Guardala has also provided a rather surprising update on Antonio Conte.

Conte to Manchester United:

Real Madrid have parted ways with Julen Lopetegui, and the announcement was made last night. While Solari has taken over as interim manager, Real Madrid could receive a huge setback as Sky Italia reports that a vacant position at Manchester United could attract him.

“Conte is going back to London after his holiday,” Guardala said.

Guardala stated that Conte’s actual interest lies in Manchester United, who had been a rival to his former side Manchester United. He insisted that Conte wants to work with players like Alexis Sanchez, Ander Herrera and Romelu Lukaku, whom he wanted to sign.

“There are many rumours about his future, Real Madrid is tempting him but Manchester United is a team that Conte really likes.

“There are players like Paul Pogba, whom he coached at Juventus. Or Alexis Sanchez, Herrera and Lukaku, three players he’s always wanted to sign.”

Guardala had earlier worked as a Chelsea reporter during Antonio Conte’s time at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United are currently 8th in the Premier League with 17 points from 10 games.

What next?

The results in their last few games have been relatively inspiring for Manchester United, and reports from Guardian suggest that the Manchester United board is ready to allocate funds amounting to 100 million pounds to Mourinho for the winter transfer window.

The Portuguese manager is eyeing a defender and the goalscorer in the winter transfer window.
