Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona is edging closer, as the Brazilian has agreed personal terms with Barcelona.

The Liverpool star has made it increasingly clear that he wishes to move to the Nou Camp this summer, with the possibility of linking up with Neymar and former Liverpool icon Luis Suarez a major draw for the Brazilian.

Coutinho has been identified by the Barcelona brass as someone who could fill Iniesta’s huge shoes. The legendary Spanish play maker is on the decline, as his imperious career is slowly but surely coming to a close.

Barcelona had a very poor season last year and they will be looking at major reinforcements to challenge the likes of Real Madrid next season. The incredible front three of Messi, Suarez and Neymar usually makes up for their weak defense.

But against top quality defenders, Barcelona usually fail which is exactly what happened last year against Juventus. The loss of Xavi and the lack of productivity from Rakitic has also played a major role in their drop in form last season.

Will Coutinho significantly improve the Barcelona midfield? Yes. He is certainly an upgrade on Andre Gomes and can easily better Ivan Rakitic in the middle of the park. His considerable talent and ability also allows him the chance to one day take Iniesta’s place as the chief play maker of the side.

Or is there another reason for having Coutinho in the team? Is he going to look to replace Neymar instead? Could the MSN become MSC next year?

We will just have to wait and see what happen!
