The Big Bash League (BBL) season 12 got off to an absolute cracker of a low-scoring thriller at the Manuka Oval on Tuesday, with Sydney Thunder getting the better of Melbourne Stars with a one-wicket win off the last delivery.

The action for the second match of the league will move to the Adelaide Oval, where the previous season runner-ups and three-time champions Sydney Sixers will take on the Adelaide Strikers today.
Both these sides met each other in the ‘Challenger’ fixture last season, when the Strikers were knocked out courtesy of a brilliant knock off the bat of Hayden Kerr while chasing.
The Strikers will begin this season under the captaincy of Chris Lynn, with their designated skipper Travis Head not available as yet due to national duty. They however, will be a force to reckon with in the batting department, with Colin de Grandhomme and Alex Hose joining them, and the T20 superstar Rashid Khan available for the initial few matches as well.

The Sixers, on the other hand, will be led by the experienced Moises Henriques, with Kurtis Patterson as the new signing to bolster their batting line-up which includes Kerr, James Vince, and Dan Christian.
Make sure you’re there tomorrow night to catch one of Lynny’s 6’s!💥

Adelaide Oval pitch report for T20 BBL 12
The pitch at the Adelaide Oval is one of the best batting surfaces in the whole of Australia, and one should expect the same during the BBL 12 match today, as along with the rest of the season.
The average score at this venue across the 7 BBL matches last season was 157.4 runs, with the relatively shorter squarer boundaries further adding to the batters’ advantage.
All in all, leaving aside the little help which the seamers will extract from this pitch early on, the batters will be on top throughout, with the surface likely to stay true to its bounce.
