Adelaide Oval weather December 20: Adelaide weather forecast for Strikers vs Thunder BBL 12 match

Set to host seven league matches, the iconic Adelaide Oval will become the centre of attraction for the second time in the ongoing 12th season of the Big Bash League tomorrow. Host for Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder rematch, the first-ever in BBL 2022-23, Adelaide has favoured the visitors over the years.

Over the years against all oppositions, Strikers have won 35 and lost 26 out of their 62 matches at their home ground. With joint second-highest number of victories under their belt here, Thunder have won six and lost three out of their 10 Adelaide T20s in the past. Adelaide Oval weather December 20

In its first week, BBL 12 managed to be conducted in a conducive environment with respect to the climate. A major worry during ICC T20 World Cup 2022, rainfall hasn’t interrupted any match of this season as of now.

Adelaide, however, has it in it to receive rainfall in a considerable amount on December 20. Right from the wee hours till noon, there’s a proper rain forecast in the city. If weather portal AccuWeather is to be believed, rain probability will remain in vicinity of 50% in the aforementioned period.

However, a major relief for the cricketing fraternity regarding a night match is that the rain probability will decrease significantly by the time the match is slated to begin (06:45 PM). Readers must note that AccuWeather predicts a single-digit rain probability during the match hours which is further expected to diminish completely by the business hours of the first innings itself.

In such a scenario, one doesn’t expect the match to be halted for a significant duration assuming that rain causes an interruption in a worst-case scenario.

Hourly weather Adelaide
