While Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar had successfully popped the question post an Indian Premier League 2021 match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Australia spinner Amanda Jade-Wellington was at the receiving end of a proposal right after the completion of a Women’s Big Bash League 2019 match.

Even at the cost of seeming cringeworthy to some, proposals inside a cricket stadium are quite common due to the importance of the moment for the people involved. While fans are often seen in planning and successfully executing such an act in the stands, there have been rare incident where cricketers are directly involved in post-match proposals.
Speaking of a most recent incident involving spectators, a similar moment was registered by a fan couple during ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 final at The Oval.
Amanda Jade-Wellington Was Proposed By Partner Tayler McKechnie During Team Photo
Tayler McKechnie, her boyfriend at the time, had come to Amanda Jade-Wellington at the Karen Rolton Oval. Amanda, who had no idea about what was about to happen next, was astonished to see Tayler milling around in front of her teammates during a team photo shoot.
Just as Jade-Wellington accepted the proposal and kissed McKechnie, the whole team was elated and joyous in addition to the lovely couple.
“When I saw him on the field, I just thought, ‘get off, we’re trying to take a team photo’. I had no idea what was really happening, but I’m so happy… I’m still shaking,” Amanda was quoted as saying by The Advertiser.
So, this just happened!!! 😃

In the middle of celebrating an Adelaide Strikers Women victory in their season opener, Wellington called it one of the best days of her life. Readers must note that the two are yet to get married.
