The first competitive red-ball match of Australia’s international summer will begin from tomorrow with Australia A hosting India A for a three-day practice match at the Drummoyne Oval in Sydney.
Led by former vice-captain of the Test team in Travis Head, Australia A will comprise of six more members of the Test series against India namely captain Tim Paine, Joe Burns, Will Pucovski, Cameron Green, James Pattinson and Michael Neser.
While India captain Virat Kohli will lead India in the second T20I on the same day and in the same city, Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who will also lead India in Kohli’s absence in the last three Tests, will lead India A which will encompass players of the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav and others.

“The one-day team had an exceptionally good start against India, put some wins on the board and put them under pressure. It’s a great opportunity with the red ball, we can start that campaign in the same manner.
“We want to start putting the Indian guys under pressure,” Head told reporters on the eve of the first warm-up match.

With the recently concluded ODI and the ongoing T20I series being broadcast on the Sony Network, if the first warm-up match between India and Australia gets televised in India, it will only happen on one of the channels owned by the network.
Since warm-up matches don’t get televised regularly, there remains an uncertainty towards this one as well. If the match doesn’t get televised in India on either of Sony SIX, Sony TEN 1 and Sony TEN 3, the Indian fans will have the option of watching it on cricket.com.au and Cricket Australia Live app as both claim to stream the match live on “most territories globally”.
If streamed, online users can stream the match on Sony’s streaming application named Sony LIV. It is worth mentioning that the match can also be watched on Airtel Xstream app as Sony Network’s channels are available on this platform as well.
As far as the fans in Australia are concerned, they will be able to watch the Drummoyne Oval match on cricket.com.au, Cricket Australia Live app, Foxtel and Kayo.
