R Premdasa Stadium Pitch Report For India vs Pakistan Emerging Asia Cup Match In Colombo

India A will take on Pakistan A in the 12th match of ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023 tomorrow. Placed in Group B, two arch-rivals will look to give their best to win a high-octane clash. It will be interesting to see how the pitch at the R Premdasa Stadium will pan out in this match.

The Indian team is on a winning streak and they would aim to register a third consecutive victory. Captain Yash Dhull scored a brilliant hundred in the first match and he should play a massive role in this match too. Opening duo of Abhishek Sharma and Sai Sudharsan will carry the responsibility of giving a good start in front of a bowling lineup which comprises of a couple of international pacers.

Much like India, Pakistan are also unbeaten in the tournament thus far. The bowling unit looks quite strong with the likes of pacers Shahnawaz Dahani and Mohammad Wasim Jr. Furthermore, batter Saim Ayub and captain Mohammad Haris should challenge the comparatively inexperienced Indian bowlers.

R Premdasa Stadium Pitch Report

The track at the R Premadasa Stadium is generally a good track for the batters. There is an even amount of bounce on this pitch which will be loved by the batters. They will be able to play their shots on merit. The outfield is fast as well and once placed in the gap, the fielders will find it tough to stop the ball.

The spinners play a big part in Sri Lankan conditions and the same is expected in this match as well. With the new ball, the pacers will get some movement in the initial overs. The spinners will play a big role in the middle overs where batters could find it tough to score runs at a brisk pace.

An overcast day is expected in Colombo which will tempt the captains to chase upon winning the toss. The moisture on the wicket will aid the fast bowlers as well. The average first innings ODI score at this ground is just 243 runs and anything above 260 should be a competitive target.
