Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Liton Das has made himself unavailable for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia due to family reasons.
Das, who missed the last two T20Is on the tour of Zimbabwe due to a thigh injury, will add to the list of players who won’t be available against Australia next month.
It is worth mentioning that senior players such as Tamim Iqbal (knee injury) and Mushfiqur Rahim (family reasons) are already set to miss Australia T20Is for now. Other than Iqbal and Rahim, there are injury concerns with respect to Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan as well.

The development was confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board’s cricket operations chairman Akram Khan in an interview with Cricbuzz where Khan explained the reason behind Das’ absence next month.
“Liton [Das] is expected to return home soon as he wants to be there for the family member who is sick. He was not available for the opening two T20s and we cannot say anything if someone says that he wants to be with his ailing family members,” Akram was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
Das, 26, is Bangladesh’s second-highest T20I run-scorer in the last three years. In 20 T20I innings in the same period, Das has scored 450 runs at a strike rate of 138.46 including four half-centuries.
Australia, who have never played a bilateral T20I series against Bangladesh, will tour the Asian country for the first time since 2017 to play all five T20Is at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
