During the third day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of England at Lord’s, wine bottle corks were being thrown at the ground where India opening batsman Lokesh Rahul was fielding.
It all happened in the 69th over of the English innings when suddenly there were visuals of several bottle corks lying near Rahul, who was fielding at the boundary.

In what was nothing less than a beyond understanding nonsense act on the part of a spectator(s), Rahul informed the same to captain Virat Kohli. Standing in the slips, Kohli didn’t shy away from signalling to Rahul to throw the corks back into the stand.
As far as the match is concerned, England scored a total of 97 runs in 28 overs in the morning session. The highlight of the session was the home team not losing any wicket as captain Joe Root and batsman Jonny Bairstow scored individual half-centuries.
Perhaps the best conditions to bat in this Test match, Root and Bairstow made the optimum use of the ball doing nothing much to dismantle them. Having put together as many as 108 runs for the fourth wicket before lunch today, England still are 148 runs behind India’s first-innings total.
