England cricket coaching staff: The English cricket team known to have to solid and star-studded support staff across formats.

Currently playing their second Test on the tour of India, England have a hectic year ahead which will see them playing multiple home and away series in addition to the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in India later in the year.

Coming on the back of whitewashing Sri Lanka 2-0 and beating India in the first Test by a comprehensive margin, England have had a terrific start to this year and would be wanting to continue their form as the year goes by.

Doubtlessly among the finest teams across formats in the last two years or so, England thrive on the back of a stellar support staff which comprises of full time coaches and part-time consultants, who are primarily former cricketers.

As far as the consultants for specialist jobs are concerned, former South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis had played the role of a batting consultant in Sri Lanka. In the ongoing tour of India, Kallis has been replaced by former England batsman Jonathan Trott.

It is worth mentioning that former England opening batsman Marcus Trescothick had also played the role of their batting consultant for a brief white-ball stint last year.

It was in December last year that England had advertised for three full-time coaches namely batting, pace bowling and spin bowling. Once the names of the selected candidates are announced, expect England to further bolster their support staff across formats.

Assistant coach – Graham Thorpe and Paul Collingwood

Batting consultant – Jonathan Trott

Fast bowling coach – Jon Lewis

Spin bowling consultant – Jeetan Patel

Fielding coach – Carl Hopkinson

Wicket-keeping coach – James Foster

Update on 01/03/2021:

After ECB (England Cricket Board) announced the names of selected candidates for the aforementioned vacant positions, three former cricketers in Marcus Trescothick, Jon Lewis and Jeetan Patel have been selected for full-time roles with the national team. England’s modified coaching staff:

Head coach – Chris Silverwood

Assistant coach – Graham Thorpe and Paul Collingwood

Batting consultant – Marcus Trescothick

Fast bowling coach – Jon Lewis

Spin bowling consultant – Jeetan Patel

Fielding coach – Carl Hopkinson

Wicket-keeping coach – James Foster
