Fastest 50 in BBL: Watch Dan Christian smashes 15-ball half-century in Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers clash

Dan Christian smashes 15-ball half-century: The veteran all-rounder from Sydney Sixers was in supreme form at the Bellerive Oval.

During the 11th match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers in Hobart, veteran Sydney Sixers all-rounder Daniel Christian registered the second-fastest BBL half-century to put on display a game-changing knock.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 12th over with a run rate of less than 6, Christian single-handedly change the course of the innings on the back of a 15-ball half-century.

Attacking the opposition bowlers from the word go, Christian hit third delivery for a gigantic six and followed it up with another couple of sixes and a four in the same over bowled by X-factor substitute Liam Scott.

Not going soft against arguably the best T20 spinner in Rashid Khan, Christian hit the Afghani player for two sixes in the following over to leave Strikers clueless.

In the next over bowled by Wes Agar, Sixers accumulated as many as 25 runs as Christian’s three boundaries powered him to a magnificent half-century. With more than five overs remaining, Sydney would’ve hoped of Christian to continue with the assault but it wasn’t to be as the right-hand batsman was dismissed on the next ball after completing his half-century.

Having scored 50 (16) with the help of four fours and five sixes, Christian propelled Sixers to 177/5 in 20 overs.

It is worth mentioning that the record for the fastest BBL half-century lies with Universe Boss who had registered a 12-ball half-century for Melbourne Renegades against Adelaide Strikers in 2016.
