"Finished in 2 days": Yuvraj Singh reacts to pink-ball Test in Ahmedabad as India register win on Day 2

Yuvraj Singh reacts to pink-ball Test: The former Indian all-rounder pointed out on how former bowlers would have made records on such pitches.

During the second day of the third Test of the ongoing England’s tour of India in Ahmedabad, India beat England by 10 wickets to lead the series 2-1 with a match to go.

Chasing a paltry 49-run target at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Indian opening batsmen in Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill sealed the chase in the eighth over without much discomfort.

On a day which witnessed the fall of 17 wickets in just over a couple of sessions, England captain Joe Root and and India all-rounder Axar Patel registered individual five-wicket hauls. Patel, who had also picked six wickets in the first innings, also registered his maiden Test 10-wicket haul.

The match, which was the first to be played at the refurbished stadium, saw 30 wickets falling in less than a couple of days which has brought severe criticism with respect to the pitch.

While the pitch wasn’t surely an ideal one for a five-day match, batsmen from both the teams not adjusting well in the first innings led to the carnage.

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was among the many renowned voices who shared their opinion on this match especially the pitch. While Yuvraj was unsure of whether such a surface will help Test cricket or not going forward, he pointed out how bowlers of his generation would’ve achieved more milestones had they played more regularly on these pitches.
