"Freddie, you’ve had your fun, now f*** off": When Andrew Flintoff sneaked into Prime Minister's room to celebrate England's Ashes 2005 win

Ashes 2005 is considered one of the best cricketing series, where England won in their home conditions by 2-1. The series was very closely fought, and English all-rounder Andrew Flintoff made a name for himself in that series. Flintoff had some iconic moments in the series with both the bat and the ball.

Flintoff is called the Man of the Ashes, and he raised his bar even higher in the Ashes 2005, where he scalped 24 wickets with the ball. The all-rounder troubled the Aussie batters, and even Ricky Ponting said that one of Flintoff’s spells in the Ashes 2005 was the toughest he ever faced.

With the bat, Flintoff scored 402 runs with the help of three half-centuries and one century. Flintoff is famous for his celebrations as well, and after the Ashes 2005 win, he created a scene at the Prime Minister’s residence. He was famous for his drinking habits, which even cost him his vice-captaincy spot.

When Andrew Flintoff sneaked into Prime Minister’s room to celebrate

After the historic win in Ashes 2005, the English team went on to celebrate the win at the Prime Minister’s residence. Flintoff revealed that the function was in the garden, and he went into the house looking for a toilet, and he then reached the cabinet room where all the meetings used to happen.

Flintoff then told that he had a beer in his hand, and he sat on the seat of the Prime Minister with his feet on the table. The security guard then asked him to move out of the room. He even revealed that he urinated on the table.

“We had a function in the garden. I went into the house looking for a toilet but then started wandering around the house. I found the Cabinet room, where all the meetings are,” Andrew Flintoff said to The Mirror.

“So I had a bottle of beer in my hand and I was sat in the Prime Minister’s chair with my feet on the table, slurping beer and holding a meeting. The security guard came in and said: ‘Alright Freddie, you’ve had your fun, now f*** off’.”

Former Australian cricketer Merv Hughes was also with Flintoff, and he said that Flintoff was even madder than he thought.
