England Test captain Ben Stokes usually likes to have his hair trimmed to size zero from the sides, while maintaining a decent and dense covering of the top hair. While most men opt for this particular style in order to minimize people’s attention to a receding hairline, the same does not hold true for professional cricketers like Stokes, who have the luxury to opt for a treatment for hair loss problems.

Been severely affected by the Bristol nightclub incident in 2017, the all-rounder from Durham had to face some arduous time for around 15 months comprising court hearings, meetings with disciplinary commission, and international match bans.
After going through all the grind and all set to make a comeback on the field for the country after a year-and-a-half, Stokes had a body makeover. Not only did he opt for and followed a tough fitness routine, he had his entire back tattooed and also decided to address hair fall issue.
Has Ben Stokes Had A Hair Transplant?
Yes. Ahead of England’s tour of West Indies 2019, Ben Stokes had undergone a hair transplant as part of his body makeover. As per reports, Stokes opted for the procedure in the very company where his fellow England teammate and pacer Stuart Broad had his hair transplant in 2016.
Stokes was developing a distinct bald patch and had resultantly decided to opt for the treatment. The fact that majority of fans still have no idea that Stokes had a hair fall problem perhaps proves how ideal the results of the treatment were.
The procedure Stokes had decided to undergo was was a follicular unit excision (FUE) treatment, which combines efficiency, effectiveness, and minimal surgery. It ensured that the discomfort cause due to a transplant could be kept to as minimum as possible, and involved removal of hairs at the side and back of the head – and transplanting them to the affected areas on the scalp.
Other English Cricketers Who Have Undergone A Hair Transplant
As mentioned above, Broad had taken the hair transplant route a few years before Stokes. Amongst the current crop of English cricketers, all-rounder Liam Livingstone had had opted for the FUE hair transplant in March 2020. Not only was Livingstone’s hairline too far back, but the hair on top of his head was significantly thin as well.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan had also opted for the aforementioned procedure in 2009. In fact, he went on to open a hair transplant clinic in Leeds, alongside Welsh national football team Ryan Giggs in 2018.
Other than Vaughan, other former England cricketers in left-arm pacer Ryan Sidebottom and the legendary Graham Gooch had also undergone hair transplants. Gooch’s case involved a classic male baldness pattern, which starts from the front of the hairline up to the crown. While not a transplant, former right-arm pacer Darren Gough had opted for a hair therapy to grow his existing hair back.
