Babar Azam hits back at reporters over his captaincy criticism
The captaincy of Babar Azam has been heavily criticized, and the demands for him to resign as the captain of the side are at an all-time high. Babar attended the press conference after losing the Karachi test, and the questions regarding his captaincy were thrown at him as expected.
Babar hit back at the reporters by saying that he loves batting under pressure and that the captaincy is not putting any kind of pressure on his batting performances. He insists that he loves playing for his country and will be in the front always for his teammates after defeats like these.
“I don’t think there is anything like that (captaincy affecting batting) and I enjoy batting in pressure. I don’t think captaincy is affecting my batting. Captaincy is an honour,” Babar Azam said to the Press.
“I always try and give my best to my country. For me, Pakistan is first, the rest comes later. The team has lost and I am here to defend my teammates, as a captain, I will front up and take responsibility. Whenever something like this happens, I will be in the front.”
Pakistan will now face New Zealand in their home conditions, and they would certainly want to improve their performances after two poor home assignments against Australia and England this year.
