Former Indian captain Virat Kohli and Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan are two of the very best in their respective departments. Khan once revealed an incident where his national teammate and former captain Asghar Afghan stole his bat that was gifted to Khan by Kohli.

Talking to cricket.com.au, Khan revealed said that he has the habit of collecting bats from different players around the world. Apart from Kohli, he got bats from Indian batter KL Rahul and Australian batter David Warner as well. Rashid loves batting and he likes getting great bats from some of the greats in business.
Rashid expressed his desire to score some runs in the 2019 World Cup with those bats. Khan told the website that he was batting against Ireland with the Kohli’s bat. He was smashing sixes for fun with that willow and he felt that there was something special in it. Khan said that even when he was trying to hit a boundary, the bowl was sailing for maximums.

After the match, Afghan approached Khan and asked him for the bat. To Khan’s surprise, Afghan had already taken the bat from his kit. The leg-spinner jokingly wished Afghan to fail with the bat so that he returns it back.
“There was something special in that bat. As soon as I came to the pavilion, our previous captain Asghar Afghan, he came up to me and said, ‘give me that bat’ and I was like ‘oh no’,” Rashid Khan had told cricket.com.au.
“He had already taken it out from my bag and put it in his own bag. That was a special bat, from a special player as well. He took that bat and I hope he doesn’t do well with that and gives it back.”
The batting of Khan has certainly improved over the years. He is making a strong case for himself to be called an all-rounder. His recent knock against Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League 2023 was one of the very best knocks of the tournament.
