First of a two-match series will follow the recently concluded three-match ODI series. With India suffering a humiliating 1-2 defeat in the ODIs last week, the visitors will be keen to dominate the ancestral format by maintaining their unbeaten spree against this particular opposition.
While neither of the two teams have announced their respective Playing XIs thus far, both will take the field without key batters namely Tamim Iqbal and Rohit Sharma. The latter missing yet another overseas Test match due to injury will see his deputy KL Rahul leading India only for the second time in this format.

The last time when these two teams had locked horns against each other in a Test match is fondly remembered as the first-ever day-night Test match to be hosted by India. With former India captain Virat Kohli scoring his last Test century in that match, he would be looking to end a drought especially after regaining form for India in white-ball formats now.
